Lately Life // rainy-day rambles

This weather has got me wanting to snuggle in bed with a gallon of ice cream. . Or maybe that’s the pregnancy talking.

Either way, I’m definitely in a rainy daze.

Due to the weather, a few of my projects have gotten pushed back– but that’s life, right?

I am coming down with an intense case of spring fever. Already hunting down this years choice sandal and craving a fresh bouquet of flowers for my table. Every Sunday at Church, I try my best to find at least one flower bud, in hopes of the new season arriving!

As you know, I’ve challenged myself to get up early, and so far it has gone great! That being said, Thursday at my midwifery appointment, I was told, due to being hypoglycemic, I must detox my body of glucose (sugar). So it looks like I have another challenge to tackle. And let me just say– this one will be MUCH harder. For a girl who owns the nickname “Cookie Monster” with great pride, not even touching fruit will be an incredible feat!

I really believe the Lord is testing my diligence.

On a good note, little baby Nelson is doing fantastic! He/she is as active as could be and has recently gone through another growth spurt!

I’m falling more in love with this little arrow of ours everyday. I’ll randomly text Curly “I have our baby in my belly” out of pure amazement! And to think, our first wedding anniversary is on Saturday! I’m honestly still 17 in my head.

Anyways, I thought I’d wrap up this rainy day ramble with a few favorites.

MUSIC.

I am currently in love with For King and Country‘s album “Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong.”

I’d have to say “Without You” and “O God Forgive Us” are my favorites. Although the entire album is stupendous.

“Carry You Home” by Nashville Skyline is great.

I’ve probably mentioned it before, but “Dreamer” by Isbells is my soul song.

“Scars” by James Bay and “Cannonball” by Damien Rice are also fantastic.

BOOKS.

This may not be as interesting because I’m pregnant so most of what I read has to do with child birth, care, or physical health.

Right now I’m reading; What to Expect when You’re Expecting, Baby Wise, Trim Healthy Momma, Handmade Marketplace, Gentle Birth Choices, and of course the Bible.

Lastly, BLOGS/WEBSITES.

I have two sites really worth checking out because they are epic.

1. The Tea Trials

This young lady is actually a friend of mine. I think she has a splendid outlook on life, great character, and is basically beyond precious!

2. Cotton and Curls

Liz Bryson is a mother of three and her entire site is dedicated to wardrobe diys, complete with maternity options! #perfection

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. Have a great week!

Love,

a dreamer.

  1. Hi, McCauley! I don’t know if you remember me, but I met you at Jami Jinkin’s graduation. Anyways, I love your blog and your Instagram. You are so beautiful and that’s so exciting to be carrying a little one. Congratulations!

Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong. is my absolute favorite album. “Steady” is currently my favorite song followed very closely by “To the Dreamers”. πŸ™‚
Another favorite album of mine is Love and the Outcome. All of their songs are amazing and speak to my soul. I encourage you to check them out!

      1. I just love how our circles of affection and influence grow ever wider by connecting with those we love and the ones they love…
